In Latin America, coffee farms are often run by families, with their own homes on the same land where their coffee grows. We’ve sipped coffee with these farmers for decades, sitting on their verandas, overlooking the lush beauty of the coffee trees rolling out in the distance. Most times it was a lightly roasted coffee like this one. It took us more than 80 tries to get it right—mellow and flavorful with a nice softness.
Starbucks sources 100% Arabica beans when crafting the coffee. Each coffee bean requires a unique balance of temperature and time to reach its individual peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. This Veranda Blend is crafted with beans harvested from Latin America. With flavor notes of nuts, cocoa and soft spice, these beans are known for their consistent taste and quality.
It's where sustainable and ethical sourcing meet to create a long-term supply of high-quality coffee and positively affect the lives and livelihoods of coffee farmers and their communities.
Starbucks, in pursuit of premium quality coffee, sources beans from more than 30 coffee-producing countries located within the "coffee belt." As a result, they have instituted their own set of comprehensive guidelines to help ensure the coffee they buy is ethically grown and responsibly traded.
